Dot Mandala Ornament
Pendant Base:Â Choose a flat, smooth surface such as a metal washer, wooden disc, or ceramic pendant.
Acrylic Paints:Â Select a variety of colors that resonate with your desired design.
Dotting Tools:Â These can include specialized dotting tools, toothpicks, or the ends of paintbrushes.
Sealant:Â A clear varnish or resin to protect and add shine to your finished piece.
Optional:Â Primer for base coating, palette for mixing paints, and a fine brush for detailing.
Instructions
Prepare the Pendant Base:
If using a metal washer or wooden disc, ensure the surface is clean and smooth.
Apply a primer for base coat is optionalPlan Your Design:
Find the centre and sketch a light guideline. Visualize the mandala pattern you wish to create.
Start from the center and work outward, maintaining symmetry.
Select three to five colours for dot mandala.Dot Application:
Dip your dotting tool into the acrylic paint, ensuring a small bead forms at the tip.
Gently press the tool onto the pendant to create a dot.
Vary the size of the dots by using different tools or adjusting the pressure applied.
Continue building your mandala pattern, allowing each layer to dry slightly to prevent smudging.Add Details:
Incorporate smaller dots over the first layer to enhance the intricacy of your design.
Experiment with color combinations to add depth and contrast.Seal and Assemble:
Once the paint is thoroughly dry, apply a clear sealant or resin to protect the design and add a glossy finish.
