š± BURNOUT RECOVERY ART SESSION
Scrap paper or a sketchbook you donāt ācareā about
One drawing tool only (pen or pencil)
Optional: one soft color
Timer (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Remove Expectations
Tell yourself: āThis drawing does not need to be good.ā
This step is important. Burnout thrives on pressure.
Step 2: Limit Your Tools
Use one pen or one brush only.
Limitations reduce decision fatigue and stress.
Step 3: Start With Random Lines
Fill the page with:
Circles
Wobbly lines
Shapes that donāt make sense
There is no subject yet.
Step 4: Find Something Inside the Mess
Look at the shapes and gently turn them into:
A face
A creature
A plant
A comforting object
Let the drawing reveal itself.
Step 5: Work in Silence or Soft Sound
No tutorials. No comparison.
Just your breath and your hand moving.
Step 6: Set a Short Time Limit
10ā15 minutes max.
Stopping early prevents exhaustion.
Step 7: Close With Gratitude
When finished, pause and think:
āThank you, hands.ā
āThank you, mind.ā
āThank you, creativity.ā
You showed up and thatās enough.
šæ Important Note
Burnout does not mean you failed.
It means you cared deeply for a long time.
